When it came to naming the new pup, however, Hemsworth wasn't far from Cyrus' mind. The canine apparently got his moniker from Hemsworth's tendency to use the word.
Cyrus is no stranger to pet care – she also owns a maltipoo named Sophie – the Hannah Montana star is definitely enjoying her new dog, according to PeoplePets.com.
Cyrus is enjoying the puppy's small size, indulging in carrying him everywhere. However, she won't be able to tote the dog wherever she goes much longer as German shepherds can grow to be 125 pounds.
According to the news source, the dog was a present from Cyrus' parents, who wanted her to have a German shepherd. Dad Billy Ray Cyrus has experience with the breed with his own dog, Tex, who has already met Mate's acquaintance.
