Driving with Pets Report

Pets Best collaborated with Progressive on a new driving with pets report that indicates pet parents are concerned about their pets in the car, but do not practice safe habits.

The study surveyed 501 Americans with pets to see what they know about properly traveling with a dog or cat in the car and found that almost half (47%) let their pet roam freely in the car.

The study also revealed:

  • 27% of pet owners always drive with their pet
  • The back seat is the most popular place (56%) for the pet followed by the front seat (26%)
  • 66% of respondents don’t know their state’s legal requirement for driving with pets

The report includes expert advice from Lindsey Wolko, the founder of the Center for Pet Safety, and Dr. Roth, the resident veterinarian at Pets Best.
